Andrea + Ronny’s beautiful Bavarian wedding

Andrea & Ronny are both from Abensberg Germany. Their wedding was not a traditional Bavarian wedding. Their ceremony was outdoors, on a cliff in the forest overlooking the Danube River. The weather was perfect and it really was magical. I don’t know if it was the air, the river, the sunlight, but it was special.
The guests arrived for drinks outdoors first. Ronny & Andrea joined their guests for drinks and music. Andrea wore two dresses. The first was a beautiful Ralph Lauren cocktail dress that she wore to her cocktail hour. She changed into her wedding dress for the ceremony immediately following.
Andrea has a daughter - Adrianna - from a previous relationship. All three were married. Each exchanged ring, said vows, and hugged and kissed. I think Ronny signed the adoption papers the day before - during the civil ceremony. In Germany you can’t have the civil ceremony where you sign papers and the spiritual/religious ceremony on the same day.
One of my favorite things they did was the balloons they let go at the end of what we would call the cocktail hour - which was extended to 2 hours since it was so gorgeous outside.
At the end of each balloon was an addressed stamped envelope to Andrea & Ronny. They asked their guests to write a message on a piece of paper. The message was something like - ” If this finds you, we will cook a dinner for you” Share a bottle of wine with you” ” Sing you a song” - basically something they can share and experience with their guests. The messages were put inside their envelopes. At the end of cocktails, just before dinner they let go of the balloons.
They are hoping the fallen balloons are found- a least a few - and put it in a mailbox finding their way back to Andrea and Ronny.
There were so many other details. Their gifts to the guests were ginko plants. It is a tradition in Abensberg to plant a tree for each child that is born. Andrea & Ronny borrowed from this idea. The table seating was written on leaves. They received money trees as wedding gifts - also traditional Bavarian for weddings.
