Registering outside the box

When J&I had to make decisions regarding our registry, we chose to go the charity route for a number of reasons. That said, if I would have known about the option of registering at a shop as interesting and beautiful as Vintage Scout, I may have had to make a compromise. How fabulous would it be to receive a smoky velvet chaise instead of more dishes or towels that you don’t even need?

I think the Scouts say it best:
Would you want to serve your guests from the generic ice bucket from Target that everyone else has, or would you like to show off with one-of-a-kind vintage barware? More practical gifts in mind? We’ve got luxurious kitchen and bed linens and can even create custom monogram pillows for the happy couple. What a subtle way to tell Auntie Madge that you’d rather receive a Jonathan Adler Muse candle and not a polyester tea cozy from her church bazaar.

Vintage Scout is located in Centerville, Ohio, and is filled with stylish antiques and eclectic finds perfect for feathering a newlywed’s nest. If you’re not local, you can check out their website, their blog and their Etsy shop online. And to see more about their bridal registry, click here.
What do you think? Would you rather register at a stylish local boutique or a run-of-the-mill department store?
